Returning home from active duty as a USAF veteran, Scott Patrick an entrepreneur at heart, found himself searching for his next mission, serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic for over 20 years.  His life would change forever when his daughter Gabrielle Celia (Gabby) was born January 2002, at 24 weeks weighing only 1lb 6oz.  After extensive stay at the NICU at Brigham and Women's hospital, Gabby finally went home alive, but permanently blind.  Scott remembers a major reason why Gabby survived, the skill of the OR doctor who intubated Gabby just seconds after her delivery.  If this doctor did not secure Gabby's airway she would have died.  Because of the skill of the OR physician who intubated Gabby's airway seconds after delivery, Scott was inspired to pursue a career as a paramedic.

He would continue to watch his daughter grow and develop into a wonderful young lady with extraordinary musical skills, most notably singing the lead role in her school production of "Mulan, at the Palace Theater and the National Anthem for President Obama’s 2012 Presidential campaign.

As a paramedic, Scott was often reminded of the night his daughter was born. Over time and with extensive research, he found that 17% of all intubations in the field were unsuccessful. He started to evaluate the procedure and found many issues that caused this intubation failure.  Scott set out to invent a better intubation tube and help paramedics improve patient outcomes. Scott formed Monitoring for Life, Inc. and through his perseverance he has invented and patented a new intubation tube: Smart Hub® integrating LED lighting, capnography, and drug delivery. Scott’s patents are now in the final stages of development, ready to launch by year 2022.

Not stopping at the intubation tube, he realized the critical need for an infant transport pod (NeoPod)® to keep babies safe and warm during transport, while still providing medical access to the infant.

Whether entering a burning building, rescuing a person in a health crisis or helping a comrade in arms, Scott Patrick is always seeking ways to help and improve lives of others. Working with professionals on the job has inspired Scott to create his latest product apparel line Ground Heroes®.

Ground Heroes® Apparel has a signature piece of Kevlar® sewn into every product sold. Kevlar® is Worn Under Fire® by fellow police officers, firefighters, and members of the armed forces to help protect them from harm’s way. Ground Heroes® products can be worn with honor.
